Web design

Web design has moved on pretty significantly in the last 15 odd years. What began as a fledgling discipline looking only at websites now encompasses everything digital.

At Blonde we believe in the need for strong digital design to set our clients apart from their competitors, as much in terms of the user experience as the brand experience.

With our expertise in digital design ranging from FMCG brand websites and corporate extranets to online sites for high street restaurant chains and major sporting events, we've created elegant digital design solutions for IRN-BRU, Royal Mail, Nando's and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

What we do

Digital designers operate in a highly subjective discipline. Good design means different things to different people, so Blonde put the focus on applying a creative twist to designs that closely follow ingeniously planned UX design wireframes, whilst adhering to online brand guidelines. We've also created these guidelines for the likes of AMEX, Aegon and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

This way we can absolutely guarantee both a rigorously researched solution with a high degree of creative flair, resulting in something truly unique and pixel perfectly on-brand.

The design team at Blonde is actively encouraged to keep their finger on the pulse of bleeding edge design approaches, in both the virtual and tactile worlds. This insight coupled with a clear understanding of web browser and mobile technologies, guarantees contemporary, innovative design. We aspire to be not just groundbreaking, but also effective!

How we do it

The Blonde digital design and development process allows for the designer to input at the very start of the project, and continuously through the entire process. By doing this, when the time comes to put pen to paper (or pointer to digital canvas), the art direction ideas have already been considered and incorporated along the way. Indeed a designer's research is very much considered at the initial UX/UI wireframe/prototype stage during the project planning, to help shape the end product.

At Blonde we never jump straight into a design layout; the functional components and information real estate of the wireframes are carefully considered, whilst client's thoughts and views are carefully taken onboard. Our designers then begin to share their inspiration and collaborate with their peers, to discuss visual ideas with design directors and the creative director to help form an initial approach to their design, before delving into full design creation mode.

The design evolution phase is continually shared with the project board; consisting of representatives from the planning, client services and technical teams. A designer will never sit for long in a silo; every stage and thought is an agreed internal decision, to guarantee efficiency and a sense of ownership by everyone involved in the project.

We involve our clients very closely in the design process because they play an integral role in shaping the end product. To make this as easy as possible for them we always present our design mockups using a browser demo tool (the same goes for our wires and prototypes), so that clients can interact with the design, enabling easy feedback at every stage, and sign-off before we move on to build.
